We are a married couple running a guest house in Scotland. We’re passionate about travelling whenever we get the chance to and finding the path to enjoy life the best way we can. We believe that we should never stop learning and exploring.
By developing House of Mark students, a vocational work experience, we want to inspire young people to travel the world and find their true potential. We have had hundreds of volunteers at House of Mark and we have seen them use this experience to connect with people in other countries and make a real difference both on a personal level and to the places they visit.
This is Ian
Originally from the UK, Ian is a proud Yorkshire man who first came across the concept of volunteering whilst driving a guest house since 2011.
The idea of being able to get directly involved with local communities whilst travelling, instead of being just another backpacker stayed with him and he developed House of Mark Students as a vocational work in our guest house in Scotland.
Ian, as a businessman, has previously travelled to several countries including a longer stay in Hong Kong. He likes the music of most genres (but not rap), a good film, watching documentaries, current affairs, history, politics, philosophy, reading and anything technical. He would have loved to travel more at the time and is looking forward to future adventures with his wife.
This is Priscecil
Born and raised in Venezuela, she is now embracing life in Scotland. Ian and Priscecil got married in June 2017 in a lovely wedding in Florida, USA.
Now settled with her husband, she has created this website page and the main website page of House of Mark guest house and the House of Mark Cottage website page.
As a creative person, she likes web design, photography and organises and decorate everything that she can do! When not working she usually loves spending time travelling to new places, walking, hiking or just sharing a cup of tea or coffee with Ian.
Enjoy life, it’s delicious. Keep travelling, keep smiling!
